It’s been said that our children are the future of the church, but in reality, they are the church of today. Hamilton’s Children’s Ministry recognizes this and seeks to teach our children how to be followers of Jesus while engaging them in church-related outreach and activities. Programs range from Sabbath School (held from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. each Sabbath “Saturday” morning) to Vacation Bible School (which runs for a week each summer).

Train Up A Child
The mission of Children’s Ministries is to reach out to children and draw them into a loving, serving relationship with Jesus Christ and with their church; and to train, resource, and support those who minister to children. In response to Christ’s mandate to feed His lambs, the goal of the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church Children’s Ministries Department is to empower and resource those at every level who engage in ministry to children.
It’s an awesome and yet daunting responsibility to “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6). The Message Bible says: “Point your kids in the right direction—when they’re old they won’t be lost.” How do we point our kids in the right direction? By going in the right direction ourselves.
This concept is the inspiration for the care and attention that is given to all the precious children at Hamilton. The Children’s Division offers Bible lessons and stories each Sabbath morning beginning at 9:15 a.m. The Precious Melodies Children’s Choir also trains these little ones to sing to the honor and glory of God.
